"Close your eyes and open your heart, I thought I was different..." - NLT ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I’m so predictable, but I've grown to like that now I know that I'll try to make you feel better Though my persistence in loving you from a distance Makes me question where I really am in relationship to you Don't let me stop you from loving me If my silence stops you in your tracks - Never mind Even though I may not say it aloud anymore I do want your love I've called your name time and time again But you’re barely a whisper this time Still my voice carries your name high enough to be heard by strangers You once had the power to make me go out of my mind with your silver tongue You were blessed with those wonderful warring words Always ready to defend your faith When I was yours, your words were ready to protect and humor me Let me hear your words free-fall into me again because I've fallen for you To some degree I know that things will never be the same after you And I just want to thank you for that little ray of change in my everyday So many letters penned but never sent Your love never made it past the front door Second chances only come around once in a life Let me know where we're supposed to go from here I’ll do whatever it takes, I know that you deserve better It’s not fair to be the one hurting when you only wanted to love What's the use in second guessing when every second should be spent with you? As messed up as I was, you wanted to love me You didn't mind my crazy ways and mischievous smiles I was down for anything when you were down for me - What happened? Do you still see us when you're next to me or do you just see yourself? Let me hear what you want from your beating heart Backing away from my touch makes me want reach out to you even more But I can't keep stretching my beliefs, so I'm letting my arms fall down You can tune out my voice but you'll still hear my heart beat Are you tired of gunning down my love?
