April 19 Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe (Xbox 360) TrailerI originally chalked this one up as an April Fool's joke when I first saw it a while back, but who knows? Today, Midway Games confirmed what had been rumored for a while: the first next-generation Mortal Kombat title, is officially titled Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe. As the title suggests, it will be a crossover with the characters and setting of DC Comics. Traditionally, Mortal Kombat games have been rated M for Mature in the U.S., which means they are recommended for players 17 and older. No word yet on whether the game will feature the fatalities and brutal moves the series is known for. Either way, Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe is, in fact, on the way. The story will be used to balance the fights more evenly, and will do so using established mythology. For instance, the story will feature magic factors, to weaken Superman against a character like Sub-Zero. The combination of “popularity and style of fighting” was used to choose which characters were in the game, according to series head Ed Boon. Batman, Superman, Sub-Zero, and Scorpion are the first confirmed characters. One of the new features for the game includes a new fighting mechanic, including zoom-ins and fighting while falling from one level of the stage to the next. More information about the game will be released at www.worldscollide.com P.S. If you know your Superheroes then you should know what their reactions will be to these words: “FINISH HIM!!!” Superman: “No, I won't!” April 17 Spider-Man: Web of Shadows (PS3)Activision announced today that Spider-Man: Web of Shadows is currently in the works from Shaba Games and Treyarch for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 2, PSP, Nintendo DS, Wii and PC.
